Chapter Six

The Survivor's Edge

Prepare your Hero before the fight — then claim the spoils after it. Loadouts and looting are where good survivors become great.

Mythic Spellbook takes the card-game genre to the next level: a world where no two survivors are likely to share the exact same experience. Nearly everything in the game carries value, and every choice matters — especially in a player-driven economy where progression, resources, and customization all play meaningful roles.

Hero Customization & Loadouts

Your Hero is far more than a leader on the battlefield — the way you customize them can completely change how you play.

Survivors can find, craft, trade, or purchase equipment and consumables through the Cinder Shop, then use them to outfit their Hero for the dangers ahead. To access your gear, open the Deck Builder and select the Hero Loadout button.

Preparation Wins Battles Each piece of gear can grant stat bonuses, unique effects, or tactical advantages. A battle that once seemed unwinnable can become manageable with the right loadout — whether you're facing another player, completing a mission, fighting powerful AI, or surviving a Roguelite Campaign. The strongest survivors aren't the ones with the rarest cards; they're the ones who know how to build their Hero.

The Spoils

Looting

When a Unit is defeated, it leaves behind a Tombstone — and an opportunity for survivors willing to take the risk.

Claim What the Fallen Leave Behind

Tombstones mark the remains of fallen allies and enemies. Interact with one to recover resources, materials, and other rewards that strengthen your camp, fuel your economy, and expand your deckbuilding options. Controlling the areas where Tombstones fall can become a winning strategy all its own.

Not every Tombstone holds the same prize. Rewards range from common resources to far rarer finds:

Safer, smallerLower-risk methods secure modest rewards.
Greater payoutBigger hauls at the cost of danger or resource investment.

Knowing when to secure a Tombstone, when to leave it alone, and which of the six methods to use can shape both your battlefield success and your camp's long-term growth. Sometimes the resources recovered from fallen units are just as valuable as winning the battle itself.

Mind Your Pack Every player starts with a bag that carries only 36 items. After each match or run, you'll want to head back to camp and bank the resources you've earned — before a defeat or a full pack costs you the spoils.
